Who wants to be on the next McDonalds diet?
June 28, 2008 by admin
It looks like someone else is looking for their next 15 minutes of fame. Everyone saw how famous Jared got with his subway diet. Well, it appears now that Chris Coleson is looking for that fame as well.
Apparently he only ate 2 McDonalds meals a day, skipped breakfast, ate very little fat and restricted himself to only 1400 calories a day, which is extremely low for a man of his size.
Now I applaud him for wanting to lose weight, but what happens when he is done with this program. Is he going to eat McD's the rest of his life and only live off of 2 meals a day.
This is another example of a fad diet that hasn't taught him anything except how to be disciplined and restrict his calories for a certain period of time. Essentially he was on a starvation diet that will lead to metabolic disaster.
If he doesn't incorporate healthier eating strategies and work on speeding up his metabolism he will eventually gain all the weight back and then some.
Seriously, where does he go from here?
If he goes back to eating 3-4 times a day his weight will balloon up because his body isn't used to eating like that. Is he going to live on 1400 calories for the rest of his life. Not very likely.
This is a perfect example of a short term diet with long term disaster written all over it.

What will they think of next! It's great that he wants to lose weight but since he's not learning how to keep it off it's highly probable that he will regain it… and more. Subway… McDonald's…. what will be next?
Thanks, Jayson, for giving us a blog that gives sound advice and great tips! Keep up the good work!
Hi Jayson,
It's amazing the stupid things people will do to lose weight. You are the voice of reason regarding weight loss plans in a sea of stupid (and sometimes dangerous) plans. I'm an exercise physiologist and fitness trainer and I even tell my clients to get your book–why should I re-invent the wheel?? It's good, solid, lifestyle eating.
Chris Coleson didn't do his body any favors in the long run on the McDonalds diet . He didn't learn how to eat better, and he most certainly lost a LOT of calorie-burning muscle by eating so few calories. That will come back to haunt him when he goes back to "regular" eating.
Keep up the great work, Jayson!
