Mini skirt deception responses
June 25, 2008 by admin
I have been flooded with emails since I wrote about the marketing deceptions that food manufacturers use to get you to buy their food. All that really happens is they make more money and you get farther away from fitting into your mini skirt or little black dress. Read a few of the responses I received and then make sure you follow the action step at the end to make sure you reach your goals of fitting into that little black dress or mini skirt.
Hello Jayson,
I get what you mean about companies and labelling/advertising. I live in Australia and have noticed recently that near the checkout counters where they invariably and strategically place tempting treats there has been a growing number of chocolate bar etc with a big sign saying:
"Only 100 calories per bar!" Now seeing this I could think gee only 100 calories, but I have to stop and convert that to kilojoules which we use in Australia, and only then I think not 100c but 420 kilojoules (and not the 100 kilojoules that I'm sure the manufacturers hope we will think!)
So is it all really about mind games or gullibility? Thanks for your time and your enlighteneing newsletters. Regards Annie.

Fantastic reply re: food labels!
I never believe what it says on the packet, i read the ingredients and try to decipher the contents.
But the best rule of thumb for anyone is keep it as simple and as low processed as possible. Simple but effective (especially if you do not know what to look out for!)
Many thanks
Karen.
